Gold standard: Thrive Homes recognised for workplace wellbeing

4 October 2023

Thrive Homes has received gold-level accreditation for its unwavering commitment to fostering a culture of health and well-being in the workplace. Awarded by the prestigious ‘Investors in People (IIP)’, the ‘We invest in wellbeing’ accreditation acknowledges Thrive’s dedication to understanding the needs of its colleagues.

Thrive Homes, a professional landlord providing over 5,500 homes across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, employ more than 180 people. At the heart of this achievement is Thrive’s dedication to shaping a comprehensive health and wellbeing strategy that addresses the diverse needs of its workforce.

The recognition signifies a significant milestone for Thrive, who have now been awarded two IIP gold-level accreditations in the last eight months. In January 2023, the housing operator’s gold-level ‘We invest in people’ accreditation was renewed for another three years. This most recent recognition is the first time that Thrive has been awarded the wellbeing certification.

Providing feedback alongside the gold-level accreditation, IIP highlighted the “warm, friendly and people-centric” culture at Thrive Homes and noted that it was “very clear that your core behaviours, play a big part in shaping culture, as well as have a hand in how wellbeing is delivered and received”.

The report was particularly glowing about the “impressive… amount of resource and support you are offering related to financial wellbeing”. The implementation of colleague working groups, regular internal surveys, as well as financial initiatives all received acclaim.

Elspeth Mackenzie, Chief Executive at Thrive Homes, said:

"We are focused on ensuring our colleagues feel supported, valued, and empowered to thrive both personally and professionally. We are thrilled to have achieved gold-level recognition for our commitment to colleague health and wellbeing.

“I want to thank my colleagues at Thrive Homes for their efforts in helping to foster a warm, inclusive, and genuine people-first environment. Our core behaviours serve as the cornerstone of this achievement, playing a pivotal role in shaping our organisational culture and influencing the seamless delivery and reception of well-being initiatives.”
