Thrive Homes gains Housing Diversity Network Accreditation

08 August 2022

Leading professional landlord Thrive Homes has been awarded the Housing Diversity Network’s (HDN) Diversity Network Accreditation. With this accreditation, Thrive was recognised with six distinctions for their approach to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) within leadership and strategy, workforce, customers, and community.

HDN praised Thrive’s achievements in helping people secure quality, affordable homes. The organisation was commended for continued and regular customer engagement, providing opportunities for feedback and involvement that helps influence services. A commendation was also received for the company’s strong rapport with colleagues that has been built partially through Working Groups, which provide an excellent forum where colleagues from across the business influence decision-making and review processes.

The award highlighted initiatives that enable Thrive to tailor their services to recognise the diverse needs of their customers who can identify service preferences such as for ‘female accompanied’ visits. Strong links with partner agencies such as the Citizen’s Advice network extend the range of support services available to customers. Additionally, those with additional physical needs can qualify for the ‘minor adaptations without delay’ to enable them to live more comfortably in their homes.

Elspeth Mackenzie, Chief Executive for Thrive Homes commented:

“We are delighted to have received The Housing Diversity Network accreditation for excellence in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion with six areas of distinction in good practice. EDI is an integral thread of our DNA at Thrive Homes and we’re extremely proud of our devoted team who make a real difference to tenants and wider communities.  Striving for greater equality never stops and we will continue our journey for excellence informed by the feedback from HDN- ensuring that Thrive is a landlord and employer where people are comfortable being themselves”

Debansu Das, Chair of the Housing Diversity Network said;

“I’m delighted to congratulate the staff members and leadership team of Thrive Homes for being awarded our prestigious Diversity Network Accreditation. We don’t award the accreditation lightly – it’s only after an in-depth scrutiny and assessments of not only Thrive’s policies and practices on EDI, but how they are implemented and delivered to become an inclusive and aspirational organisation. Overcoming the challenges of the pandemic, Thrive have successfully embedded EDI into their culture and work ethics for their staff, partners and the communities they serve – a great success story!”
