External Wall Insulation Project

Helping homes be warmer and more energy efficient

At Thrive Homes we are committed to delivering energy-efficient homes that cost less to heat and help to reduce carbon emissions.

Through the Government's Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) we have secured funding to install external wall insulation to over 200 homes within the Watford and Three Rivers area.

What is external wall insulation?

External wall insulation (EWI) is a layer of insulation that is added to the outside of a home. It makes the home warmer in winter, cooler in summer and therefore should need less energy heat it. It will also improves the look of a home as the external finish - pebbledash or render - is updated as part of the job.

What does this cost?

Thrive tenants will receive this upgrade free of charge. The cost of installing the EWI will be covered by Thrive alongside funding from the Government's Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF).

Which homes are eligible for free external wall insulation?

In order to assess eligibility, Thrive reviews the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) for every home we own within the Watford and Three Rivers area. Selected customers living in the following streets will be contacted by post if they are eligible or where an EPC survey needs to be undertaken.
