Important updates for your building

An update on your bin store

We are aware of the ongoing waste issues at Ovaltine Drive, and we share this frustration. 

The root cause of the issue is due to items such as furniture and mattresses being wrongly placed in the bin store. When this happens, the refuse service will not carry out their collection.

We have been inspecting your bin store weekly and arranging clearance visits as required.

After attending a clear bin store on Tuesday 22nd November, we were disappointed to learn that furniture items had since been dumped inside the store and the bins are overflowing. A clearance has been scheduled for Friday 25th November.

Listening to your feedback, we know some customers have suggested placing a lock on the store. Sadly, our experience is that misuse of bin stores is often be caused by existing or former customers so installation of a lock would not prevent this issue. 

Working together, we can prevent this from happening and we are asking for your help in the following ways:

  1. Only dispose of household waste and make sure you are placing it in the correct bin
  2. Take large items to your local refuse centre which you can locate at: www.recyclenow.com 
  3. Keep the floor clear of any rubbish bags
  4. Please let us know if:
    1. the bins are overflowing 
    2. a collection has been missed 
    3. items (such as furniture) are left in the store.

If you have any idea or evidence of who has misused the bin store, please speak to us on a confidential basis. We will investigate and apply charges where possible which will prevent future occurrences.
