Anti-Social Behaviour- What is it - and what can be done about it?

Thrive Homes wants all residents to feel safe and secure in the community they live in. We fully defend our resident's right to a peaceful environment for themselves and their family members.

Many of us live in close proximity to our neighbours and most of the time there are no problems, however there are times when relations between neighbours can become strained. Or we may experience problems in the area that we live.

Anti-social behaviour is defined in law as:

"
Behaviour that is capable of causing nuisance or annoyance to any person that does not live in the same household as the person(s) causing the anti-social behaviour, and can be considered so by any reasonable person."

Anti-social behaviour can take many forms, but behaviour will be considered anti-social if it breaches the law, the tenancy conditions, and/or meets the criteria above.

Thrive Homes takes anti-social behaviour very seriously, and will continue to develop a working partnership with our tenants, leaseholders and other agencies to tackle this problem.

Each Estate Officer deals with and investigates reports of anti-social behaviour where the perpetrator/s is tenants of Thrive Homes.

Our commitment to tackling this problem is such that we will shortly have a dedicated Anti-Social Behaviour Officer in post who will be working with residents to set up and implement a strategy for dealing with ASB.

If you feel that you may be a victim of anti-social behaviour and wish to seek more advice, please call your Estate Officer on 020 8428 4428. All calls will be in strict confidence. Any serious problems should be reported to the Police at the time of the incident.
